The Real Deal with Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Foundation

So after hearing people go on and on, and on and on, and ONNNNNN about Estee Lauder’s DoubleWear Foundation, I FINALLY (thank you birthday giftcard) went out and bought the damn thing myself.

I’m not really the kind of person to jump on bandwagons because I’m more the kind of person who subconsciously refuses to like anything that goes viral until people don’t care about it anymore. Why? No idea. Guess I’m just too rebellious LOL.

Anyways, so I bought the foundation. A nice girl that works at Sephora helped shade match me (finally, after waiting about 30 minutes for someone to actually offer to help me), and off I went, excited to embark on this new adventure of hopefully flawless skin (hello, NikkieTutorials).

Sadly, that was not the case….

I hate this foundation on my skin. I absolutely hate it! I’ve tried it with every possible tool imaginable…my hands included! I’ve tried different primers, no primers, different setting methods, every damn thing I could possibly try….but no. It makes my skin dry and flaky. For a “full coverage” foundation it doesn’t really cover anything properly, (had me thinking maybe it was too light a shade, Idk, what do you guys think)?  And I just overall don’t like how it looks on my skin. After a few hours it looks really cakey and I can see so much of my skin texture, nothing like the flawless finishes I’ve seen on other people! Tres decevant 🙁

I’ve already used it quite a few times, hoping each time will be better than the next, but today was my last straw so now I’m quite adamant about returning it. Hopefully they’ll take it back (I never return anything, anywhere). Time to go back to my holy grail…the Fenty foundation <3
